Mackenzie Semmens

Film Editor and Screenwriter

I am an aspiring filmmaker who is aiming to become more experienced within the industry, particularly in the areas of screen writing and editing. I find these two areas of filmmaking immensely fascinating because they are what gives each film its individual flow and style.

Additionally, I have been gaining intellectual knowledge about my field through a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film, Screen & New Media), as well as a Bachelor of Business at QUT. Throughout these studies I have gained an understanding of both practical and theoretical facets of filmmaking, as well knowledge about advertising and business in general.

In this workshop I learnt about how film sets operate and basic film set etiquette. I also briefly learnt about how the COVID-19 pandemic was affecting the film industry within Australia.
